What is a BDR?

Backcountry Discovery Routes

Backcountry Discovery Routes is a non-profit advocacy organization that creates off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel.  BDRs are found all across the United States.

NEBDR

The Trails

For our adventure, we will use a mix of the MA (Mid-Atlantic) and the NE (North East) BDR. There will be a mix of pavement, beginner and expert trails, with options to skip difficult sections.

What is included on the BDR Trail Ride:

  • We organize all routes from beginning to end, so you just show up and ride!  We’ll provide each rider with the GPS routes for the 4 days and load it onto their GPS for them if desired

  • Providing you with tips and hints ahead of time on things to pack, helping you prepare for this epic adventure

  • Recommend accommodations so all you have to do is call and book a room (single or double), some locations this won’t be necessary (hunt camps for example will be pre-booked for the # of riders)

  • A guide and a sweep for the entire journey to help ensure the group stays together. The guide will know about bypasses and can make decisions on the fly to keep the group moving

  • Ensuring our routes have sufficient rest stops for gas and food, as well as having alternates arranged

  • Guides will have tools to do trail-side repairs for most common small problems (punctured tires, basic fixes)

  • Optional real-time communication using headsets (we use Cardo Packtalk DMC, but can talk to Sena and others if you have one)

  • Satellite tracking for the group, we provide a link that you can share with family and friends so they can follow along from home as we complete our journey

What's not included:

  • There will not be a chase/support vehicle on this trip.

  • Meals and refreshments

  • Cost of accommodations
