Details:
Meet and greet in Dawson City and prepare for the big journey north.
The following day we will head up the Dempster hwy and be treated to some amazing scenery and gravel roads all the way to eagle plains where we will have a delicious dinner and meet travellers from all over the globe. We will stay at eagle plains in the rustic lodge.
Eagle plains to Inuvik on the fourth day. We will take advantage of the long days in the north and have a late dinner under the sun at a great unique truly local restaurant. We will wonder around the town and see how the locals have lived for the last century. Inuvik was once a bustling oil town and you will see signs of that as we make our way through.
This is the day that is most anticipated by travellers as we make the final push to the Arctic Ocean. The ride will be our shortest day in the saddle but the experience in Tuktoyaktuk will make it one of the most memorable. We will have lunch on the shores of the Arctic Ocean and try some local delicacy’s with Grandma and hear stories of life in the north. We will return to Inuvik for a night in the hotel.
As much as we don’t want to leave you’ll be treated to views from another perspective that you’ve been trying to catch in your mirrors. Even though we travel back the way we came you won’t be anticipating the end of the road as the views south are like a new adventure. We will stay another night at eagle plains on the return journey with new travellers or perhaps old friends from the trip north.
As we leave eagle plains the landscape will change again as we drop into the valleys below and follow the highway south to Tombstone park where we will take a nice break and relax in the beautiful mountains and valleys before arriving in Dawson City. Nows the time to test your luck at the oldest gambling hall in the north and catch a show with the world famous can can girls. We will rest up in our gold town era hotel. We have a full day to explore Dawson city and show you the unique history of the Klondike before we make the journey south in the morning.
Make our way to carmacks for a great evening on the shores of the Yukon river and the following day we will head north way to central Yukon and the town of Ross river. tonight we will spend the night in the shores of the pelly river in a custom log cabin with some of staying in the bunkhouse out back. From Ross river we start our journey south along the south canol road. A historic world war 2 pipeline road that will carve its way through central Yukon and make our way to teslin for a relaxing evening and great dinner on the shores of the Yukons third largest lake.
The next day is one of our shorter riding days as we make the journey to Atlin BC we claim this town as our own in the Yukon and it’s very appropriately named little Switzerland of the North and it’s also the largest natural lake in British Columbia. Our hotel couldn’t be a I’m a better location, literally on the shores of the lake.
As much as we hate to backtrack, we will head back down the Atlin road and take a detour throughout the southern lakes. One of the most picturesque regions in all the territory. As we make our way back to the bright lights of Whitehorse and enjoy a much needed rest in a modern hotel where the following day will be a sightseeing day around the capital city we will have some shorter day trips planned to see the peaks around the city or a more technical riding to push your limits and see the alpine minutes from the city.
Day trip out of Whitehorse and return for our farewell dinner at the world-famous Yukon motorcycle park and stay in amazing heated wall tents after a bonfire, telling all our wisest tales from the trip. You’re not gonna want to leave, but this is where we will part ways and return to the nice that we know.
