Four-Day Ontario Excursion

Our Excursion trips pack four days of riding excitement into an extended weekend. These rides are suitable for all road-legal bikes, from dual purpose to touring, but they will be run at a spirited pace with daily distance in the 500 km range. You must feel comfortable riding this distance daily. We'll be taking adequate breaks for coffee/lunch/gas along the way as well as stops at points of interest. Each night, we'll be staying in motels/inns, and will make dinner reservations for the group. Relaxing over a good meal with new friends and recounting the day's experiences is a great way to end every day.

Our four-day Ontario excursion takes you to some of the best curvy “motorcycle roads” in Central, or Southeastern Ontario. Except for short stretches on Highway 11 on Days 1 & 2, the route is mainly on secondary paved roads. Running through Ontario's Cottage Country, the Algonquin Highlands, and the Ottawa valley, the scenery is as diverse and beautiful as the riding experience. The price of the four-day Ontario excursion is $300/rider, $400/2up.

All overnights will be in motels or at private locations, no camping.

What is included on the four-day excursion:

  • We organize all routes from beginning to end, so you just show up at our meeting point and ride!

  • Providing you with tips and hints ahead of time on things to pack, helping you prepare for this epic adventure

  • Recommending accommodations so all you have to do is call and book a room.

  • A guide and a sweep for the entire journey to help ensure the group stays together. The guide will know about bypasses and can make decisions on the fly to keep the group moving

  • Ensuring our routes have sufficient rest stops for gas and food, as well as having alternates arranged

  • Guides will have tools to do road-side repairs for most common small problems (punctured tires, basic fixes)

  • Optional real-time communication using headsets (we use Cardo Packtalk DMC, but can talk to Sena and others if you have one)

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Barrie to Callander

Heading north from Canada Rides HQ, we'll be hitting all of the routes motorcyclists love: Southwood Road, Aspdin/Ravencliff/Stiststed Roads, Highway 518, the Bunny Trail, and many more. A short jaunt on 11 brings us to Callander, where we'll have dinner at the onsite Inn restaurant before a well-deserved rest.

Day 4

Tweed to Barrie

Even though it's the last day, there's still 500 km of backroad twisties to experience. We'll head back to the Kawarthas and ride 507 again in the opposite direction (since once is never enough). After one last stop in Bobcaygeon, we will hit the backroads before heading home.

Day 2

Callander to Barry's Bay

Retracing our steps down highway 11, we'll peel off at Huntsville to head into the Kawarthas. Taking 35 to Haliburton, we'll head down to Gooderham and run a circle route to ride the 507; perhaps the best motorcycle road in Central Ontario. From there, we'll ride up to the south boundary of Algonquin Park via Elephant Lake Road. We will; continue onto Barry's Bay, where we'll spend the night

Day 3

Barry's Bay to Tweed

While riding over 500 km to get to a destination that is just 100 km away may not make sense, the logic will become perfectly clear as we crisscross our way through Eastern Ontario, covering the best motorcycling roads in the area. Once we arrive in Tweed, we'll check into our motel, then head to dinner to recount the day's adventure.
